As owner of Higher for Hire, Rebecca Cunningham turned a previously unknown shipping firm into a highly successful and reputable company. With a natural flare for business and economics, the failing "Baloo's Air Service" turned out to be just the kind of company she could use to prove her ability.

Rebecca is a strong-minded woman with clear ideas on what she wants and how to get them. She prefers everything to be in order and run to plan, but nothing is ever that simple at Higher for Hire and too often, the biggest spanner in the works is her one and only pilot, Baloo. Baloo doesn't mean to be difficult, but his jovial, carefree attitude often conflicts with Rebecca's business strategy. Baloo particularly objects to any new moneymaking scheme Rebecca devises, often seeing them to be more trouble than they're worth, for which he is usually right.

With all the pressures of running a business, Rebecca also manages to find time to bring up her daughter Molly, who can occasionally be a handful herself. Sometimes work can overwhelm Rebecca however and she has much less time than she'd like with Molly, but she always puts her daughter first. In fact, despite her sometimes hard-line approach to life, Rebecca will always put her friends before the business and cares deeply for Kit and Baloo, though she perhaps would never admit it, and it's this aspect of her personality that makes her such a likeable character.
